On Thursday, September 26, 2019, re-unit invited guests to the event “Vines and Restructuring” in Braunschweig under the motto “Old Economy in Transition.” More than 80 attendees listened to presentations on current restructuring topics from various perspectives.
Silvio Höfer of Anchor Rechtsanwälte reported on “Restructuring and Change at a Traditional Engine Manufacturer.” Tobias Hartwig of Schultze & Braun provided insights into “Challenges in the Care Sector: Restructuring a Nursing Home – A Case Study.” Representing re-unit, Michael Schmidtmann spoke in line with the event’s title on “The Process of Corporate Restructuring – Fresh Wind in the Sails of Traditional Companies.” The lecture by Prof. Dr. Thost of BOTH Rechtsanwälte focused on “The Liability of the Managing Director / CRO in Self-Administration.” Finally, another excursion into the healthcare sector followed: Dr. Reinhard Wichel (WMC Healthcare GmbH) shared a “Practical Experience Report: The Changing Hospital Landscape.”
Between the specialist lectures, guests enjoyed a special experience in the form of a “wine journey.” Dirk Behrens accompanied each wine with fascinating insights from the French Bourgogne region as well as from German wine-growing areas.
Afterwards, participants exchanged ideas over barbecue and wine in a relaxed atmosphere. All involved drew a positive conclusion: there was intensive networking, and many new contacts were established. The format “Vines and Restructuring” is set to become an annual event. re-unit looks forward to further inspiring exchanges in 2020.
